Quickmove Properties: A team from park home selling specialists, Quickmove Properties, took on the Walk to Remember, a gruelling 13 mile trek from Gloucestershire to Wiltshire in aid of the charity Alzheimer’s Support.

Additioanlly, last month three members of the Quickmove Properties team took to the skies over the Wiltshire countryside to complete a death defying skydive that saw them raise £3,823 for the charity.

To date, the team of 19 fundraisers has raised £961.

Rachel Fear, community fundraising manager at Alzheimer’s Support, said: “Alzheimer’s Support is a charity that is very close to our heart as a company and we’re incredibly proud of the Quickmove team for the effort and dedication they have shown in tackling the fundraising tasks presented to them.

“Our skydive was an incredible success, raising almost £4,000. However, this time around, the team did request something that would keep their feet firmly on solid ground. A request they may well be regretting this week after walking 13 miles.”

eXp UK: Scott Gunn, an agent with self-employed agency brand eXp UK is usually found tackling the housing market across the Isle of Thanet.

However, Scott has swapped the current challenges of the UK property to test himself with a 600 mile cycle from Margate to Edinburgh in aid of the Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.

He aims to raise at least £5,000 for Guy’s & St Thomas’, a charity that provides hospital and community-based healthcare, research and education for children and their families.

The cause is one close to his own heart, with the Evelina Children's Ward at St Thomas’ Hospital helping Scott and his wife 12 years ago ahead of the birth of his daughter Boe.

Boe turned 12 on the 5 June, the day before Scott set off for Scotland.

Scott aims to cover 600 miles between 6th June and when he hopefully reaches Edinburgh on 13th June.

The route will take him from Margate to Bishop Stortford, Grantham, York, Newcastle, Berwick Upon Tweed and finally to Edinburgh.

But the task had already thrown up a number of challenges before it had even started.

Having never cycled before, Scott purchased his first ever road bike, which was promptly stolen, requiring him to purchase a second bike before he could start training.

Training for two to three hours a day over the last five months, Scott has had two unscheduled dismounts and has also been subject to a mugging while stationary at a set of traffic lights.

Scott’s arrival in Edinburgh also coincides with eXp UK’s Edinburgh Roadshow and he will be greeted at the finish line by guest speaker and footballing legend, Kevin Keegan.

He said: “The first time in my life I’ve felt completely helpless was when my wife and I received the news that our daughter may have a heart defect and her chances of survival were slim at best. Within 24 hours we found ourselves at the Evelina Children’s Ward which is part of the Guy’s & St Thomas’ Trust and the staff were nothing short of exceptional.

“Our experience turned out to be a positive one, but we were humbled by the fact that not everyone that visits the ward receives the same good news we did. The Evelina Children's Ward delivers exceptional care to children and families in dire circumstances and they do it with respect and humanity.

“Since that day, I’ve wanted to do something to give back but I knew it had to be something challenging. On a recent train ride from Margate to Edinburgh and while enjoying the spectacular views, I thought to myself, I wonder if I could complete this trip by bike.

“I’m not a cyclist, but the answer must have clearly been yes, because here I am. Hopefully, I look forward to seeing the rest of the eXp UK family on arrival in Edinburgh, but in the meantime, any donation, regardless of how much, would be greatly appreciated.”

Pattinson: Estate agency and auction brand Pattinson has become the first North East supporter of The Prince’s Trust, after making a substantial donation to the charity.

The agency said this donation, alongside its own practical efforts in offering more apprenticeships and work-related training and development opportunities, highlights a joint commitment to improving the prospects of young people across the region.

Managing director Caroline Pattinson said: “As a company, we have always strived to make a long-term, positive impact on the community and The Prince's Trust is the perfect organisation for us to work with in order to do so.

“It has a long history of providing vital support to young people and helping them to develop transferable life skills, and this resonates strongly with our own business values and goals.
“At Pattinson Estate Agency/Pattinson Auction, we are also committed to making a lasting, positive difference in the lives of people, young, old and everyone in-between”

David Wilson Homes: Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes, behind the Applegate Park development in Borden, has recently supported Sittingbourne based Kent Bus Shelter & Community Hub with a donation of £1,500 via its Barratt Foundation Community Fund initiative.

Founded by Tony Cooper in 2016, Kent Bus Shelter & Community Hub provides a range of services from food parcels to hot meals on site, and a place for people to go for advice and some warmth.

Their services also help those in need find accommodation across Sittingbourne and surrounding areas, which is approximately 30 to 40 people each week. To help manage the increase in demand, the shelter is putting the donation towards stocking up on food supplies ahead of this busy time.

Natalie Perry, sales and marketing director for David Wilson Kent, said: “We believe that no one should have to use a food bank but unfortunately with the alarming rising cost of living, food prices seem to be the worst affected area leaving people with no choice.

“It has been a pleasure working with Kent Bus Shelter & Community Hub who not only provide a food bank service, but also a place for people to come and receive a hot meal and have a chat with their lovely volunteers. It is places like this which make a community, and we are proud to support those who work tirelessly to make a difference in their local area.”

Tony added: “This donation could not have come at a better time for us, with the foodbank being busier than ever before.

“We also had a burst pipe over Christmas and into the new year which meant we have been stretched more than ever before.

“Thankfully, we are now back at our usual base of Phoenix House and helping those in need in Sittingbourne and the Swale district. I want to take my time to thank David Wilson Kent for their incredibly kind donation, and it’s funds like this which make us able to help as many people as possible. We are here for anyone in the area who may need some extra help, or who just need a chat with one of our friendly volunteers.”

The donation was made as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative, which sees the housebuilder to donate £1,500 each month to a local charity to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area.

Meanwhile, the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity recently received a £1,500 donation from Barratt Homes through its foundation’s Community Fund initiative.

The donation will go towards developing treatments for leukaemia, as part of one of the hospital’s ‘Special Purpose Funds’
