The Barratt Foundation: Charity Sussex Green Living has received a £1,500 donation from housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties to support its mission in educating and inspiring the community to live in an environmentally friendly way.

The donation will sponsor the installation of two Pollination Education Stations at William Penn Primary School in Horsham and Billinghurst Primary School in Billingshurst, educating children on protecting the environment while boosting ecology diversity within the area.

These purpose-built structures are crafted from repurposed materials and provide a safe space for insects including bees and butterflies to fuel up on collected nectar.

The stations will be used by the school children and their parents to grow pollinator friendly flowers and herbs and will be used as an educational resource to learn more about local species in the area.

The donation comes from The Barratt Foundation, the housebuilder’s charity partnership, which supports children, young people and disadvantaged groups wherever Barratt Developments PLC, of which Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties is a part of, operates across the UK.

Carrie Cort, chief executive of Sussex Green Living, said: “Our renature project is focused on creating a Pollination Education Station Trail across Sussex to raise awareness of the vital role pollinators play in our eco-systems.

“We are proud to work closely with schools to educate the next generation on the importance of protecting biodiversity and this donation from Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties will enable us to expand the trail even further.

“The students are very excited to nurture their own stations and we look forward to seeing them grow over the coming months.”

Alex Dowling, head of sales and marketing at Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties, commented: “As part of our commitment to protecting the environment and local ecology, we are proud to support Sussex Green Living on its fantastic work across the Sussex area. The Pollination Education Stations will form a key part of William Penn and Billinghurst Primary Schools outdoor curriculum, providing an interactive and hands on experience with nature.”

Crest Nicholson: Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson supported Bradley Stoke Community Primary School (BSCS) by sponsoring their annual summer fayre, on behalf of their nearby Brooklands Park development in Stoke Gifford, located only two and a half miles away.

The housebuilder has sponsored the summer fayre that was held on the 22nd June. Crest Nicholson donated £750, helping to throw an enjoyable day for all pupils, parents and teachers in attendance on the weekend.

The parent-run charity, Friends at BSCS helps to organise the summer fayre and raise funds for the Primary School. Their aim this year is to raise £20,000 to help improve the playground for the pupils to enjoy, as well as providing financial support for parents to help pay for ongoing school trips, musical equipment and other activities throughout the year.

Neil Robinson, head of sales at Crest Nicholson South West, said: “We hope everyone at the summer fayre had an enjoyable day out! It is always a pleasure to be able to support the local community on behalf of our developments in the local area.”

Devri Addison, chair at Friends at BSCS Primary School, commented: “Thank you very much to Crest Nicholson for sponsoring our annual summer fayre this year, the sponsorship is greatly appreciated. All those in attendance had a great day and we look forward to working together in the future.”

Cubitt & West: Agents from Cubitt & West donned multicoloured wigs and danced the day away on the back of static bikes outside their offices to raise money for the Rainbow Trust.
The charity provides bespoke support for families who have a child with a serious illness.

As well as hosting their own charity days where agents dressed up in fancy dress, held tombolas and hosted fun games, agents have been cycling impressive distances to raise money for the Rainbow Trust. So far, they have raised an impressive £3,500.

Pete Mancktelow, corporate partnerships fundraiser for Rainbow Trust, said: “It has been great fun visiting the different branches over the past few weeks and seeing the enthusiasm and support from all their agents.

“Their passion and commitment means that we can be there for families who are struggling to cope with the complexities that come with caring for a seriously ill child”

Pittis: Agency brand Pittis is celebrating 250 years of helping the Isle of Wight community move with a new 250-hour Challenge.

Pittis agents will collectively contribute more than 250 hours of service to the Isle of Wight community by the end of the year. Whether through volunteering, participating in marathons, organising fundraisers, or lending a helping hand around the island, its agents are dedicated to making a meaningful difference.

This will include beach cleans across some of the island’s beaches, volunteering in local shops like Kissy Puppy’s Sophie’s Shop in Newport and hosting charity days within their branches.

Neil Piper, senior operations director at Pittis, said: "At Pittis, we understand that our responsibility extends beyond homes. For 250 years, we have been deeply rooted in this community, and the people of the Isle of Wight are at the heart of everything we do.

"The 250-hour Challenge is our way of reaffirming our commitment to the well-being of our community and continuing the legacy of giving back that has defined us for centuries."

To get involved in the 250-hour Challenge, Pittis encourages local organisations and individuals in need of volunteers to reach out to their nearest branch.
