Veteran agent behind biggest-ever UK sale wins lifetime award

Gary Hersham, the founder of high-end London-focussed agency Beauchamp Estates, has been given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the property data consultancy LonRes.

A statement from the consultancy says: “One of the most influential real estate players in the prime and super prime London market, Gary founded Beauchamp estates 40 years ago.  Almost five decades on, Gary remains a giant in the sector and the driving force behind some of the biggest deals in the capital.”

Hersham brokered what is thought to be the sale of the UK’s most expensive home: the 45-room, seven-storey 2-8a Rutland Gate in Knightsbridge property, reportedly sold to Chinese billionaire Cheung Chung-kiu for upwards of £200m, far exceeding the previous record of £140m for a UK house.
